Managers statement:

When we started this team, we knew the time for hard choices would come.  The first lot were last year, asking three players to stand down from the regular team.  Whilst this was sad for all of us, the end has surely justified the means.  We won the 'C' Division by just one point, and I feel sure that had I not made the tough decisions when I did, we may have ended up holding Runners-Up medals at the HML Presentation.  So how do you move a team forward from that?  For me it means more of the tough choices.  A further four have been asked to stand down, and because of this they have all moved on to other teams where we wish them the best of luck (especially those who have gone to our Wanderers team).  This has left us with a squad of just 14.  Some might say that is not enough, but for me it is the right number.  I have picked the 14 based on my view of their ability.  I believe (as I'm sure do all Managers) that I have the best squad in the League.  My aim this year will be to transform two teams of seven into one team of eleven, capable of pushing right to the very top.  This year training will become much more intelligent, with more emphasis on tactics rather than technique.  I believe that my boys have the ability to play at the highest level of the League.  Hopefully this year, we will instil the knowledge to turn that potential into reality.
