Yet
again Frys was rained off. Luckily, DRG
were able to use their pitch so we switched venue’s and played our Home game
Away for the second time this season.
Andy, sporting a very nasty cough had to referee, so Steve Batt took
over the Dictaphone duties and insisted on calling them FDS for some strange
reason!
Game
1 - The line up was:
Joby
Jack Callum
Josh Joel
Tom
Joe
Rolling Sub: Luke
Tom shot from the halfway
line, but the ‘keeper made an easy save.
DRG then had an attack, but Josh cleared it up. Joel won the ball on the halfway, ran
forward, found Josh and he slotted
it home 1-0. Tom went down the left, crossed inside to
Joel, but his shot went wide. Joe then
ran down the left and crossed it in, but unfortunately it was over our players’
heads. From our corner, DRG broke away
and Tom got back to clear for a throw.
Tom then broke down the left and got his cross in to where Josh was waiting to get his second of
the match 2-0. They did have another attack, but Callum and
Jack cleared up really well. DRG were
then through, but Joby came out quickly and made a great save. Josh went up the right and was nudged off of
the ball for which Andy gave a free-kick.
Apparently it was the first good decision Andy had made!!! They attacked and chipped the ball over our
defence and Joby had to be quick to get there ahead of their number 4. Joe hit a corner to where first Callum then
Josh saw shots cleared off of the line.
Another DRG attack was mopped up by Jack and Callum, both commanding in
defence. Tom won the ball, ran down the left and hit an unstoppable shot 3-0.
From their kick Tom won it and passed to Joe who took a long range shot
but it was just wide. Josh got injured
and from the resulting drop ball Tom’s shot hit the post.
From the kick off we won
it and forced a corner. Tom then swung
it in and Josh got his hat-trick 4-0.
Luke and Josh then linked up well, but the final cross was missed by
all. From a throw, they cleared as far
as Callum who hit a long range shot, but the ‘keeper made the save. Tom then ran at their defence and was
fouled. Joe took the shot, it deflected
off of one of their defenders, but their ‘keeper grabbed it. DRG attacked only to run into first Callum,
then Josh. Joe threw long into the box
but Josh’s shot was saved. Joby was then
quick off of the line to make a smart save on a loose ball in the area. They attacked which Callum cleared, but it
came back with interest and hit the crossbar!
From their drop kick, Josh found Joe, he found Tom, and his shot was hit
for a corner. Joe crossed the ball in,
Josh back-heeled it to Luke and he
buried it in the net 5-0. Jack then got the ball to Tom and he played
it in to where both Luke and Josh left it for each other. A route one clearance from Joby to Joe saw the ball nestling in the net 6-0.

Game
2 - The line up was:
Jamie
Sam
B Spike
Jim Sam K
Max
Chilly
Rolling Sub: Mark &
Josef
From the kick off Chilly
ran down the wing and crossed it into Jim
for him to score 1-0. They then broke back at us, but Sam B was
alert to make the challenge. Max then
played a long ball through for Chilly to force a corner. Max then hit a shot against the post and Chilly
just missed the rebound. Chilly took a
corner to Spike and he found Max who
made no mistake 2-0. Max then went down the line and got a cross
in, but Jim just couldn’t reach it.
Spike won the ball, then held it up well, before Sam B took a long range
shot which went wide. Jim won the ball
in the middle and played in Sam K
who finished coolly 3-0. A great ball into the box saw first a melee,
then both sets of players leaving it.
The result was a goal kick.
Jon Bane took Dictaphone
duties for the second half and apparently Michelle wanted curtains hung that
afternoon during the
