They Nick It! Sunday 5th
September 2004 ____________________________________________________________________
With Andy swanning off to
Game 1 - The line up was:
Joe B
Sam P Sam B
Mark
Josh Ethan
Oscar
Rolling Subs: Josef, Jamie C
& Dan
A throw from Josh was picked
by them but we cleared. They then had a
shot on goal but Joby (Joe B) saved well.
Ethan then had a shot, it ricocheted back and he had another but their
young lady ‘keeper saved both well. St
Nicks attacked but Oscar was on hand to break up the attack and clear
downfield. Sam B then defended well and
their shot was well wide. Saints
attacked again but Josef was there to stop them and he went on a run up field,
unfortunately running the ball out for a throw as he did. Saints attacked again and Joby could do
nothing about the shot 0-1. They attacked again but Sam B was there to
clear it. Another Saints attack was this
time dealt with by Jim (Jamie C) and Mark.
Joby then came to clear but received a kick for his troubles. We were awarded a free kick. After a good run from Jim, they got the ball,
attacked, and scored 0-2.
Dan made a good tackle but then they won it back,
went on a run and left Joby with no chance 0-3. They then had an incredible long shot which
Joby was never going to save 0-4. The rest of the game has been lost to a dodgy
dictaphone but the final score was 0-6.
Man of the Match – Joe Bray
Game 2 - The line up was:
Jamie
G
Luke
A Jordan James
Max Joe C
Luke G
Rolling Subs: Sam K, Tom,
Jack Y
As with the rest of the first
game, the match has been lost but so have two of the goalscorers. Joe
Carreyett with a fine hat-trick, his first of the season, was three of them
and if you can remember who the other two were then please let me know. If you ask your children, they can tell you
how many they have scored and if it doesn’t tally with the total then we could
have a winner.
Man of the Match – Max Stevens
Despite
what appears to be a big defeat in the first game, I have been told that the
boys acquitted themselves well and didn’t deserve to lose! As for the second game it was never in doubt
and at the end the final score overall was a lot closer.
