With Andy swanning off to
Game 1 - The line up was:
Jamie G
Sam B Jack
Tom Max
Dan C Sam K
Rolling Subs: Josef &
Jordan
Great start for Frys as Sam B
attacked strongly. A cross was hit in
across goal but Max just couldn’t reach it.
Max then went on a good attack, but he was fouled which, wasn’t
given. Jack was called upon to do some
defending, then he passed to Sam K, & back to Jack & back to Sam K
again. Next Sam B was defending and then
we attacked with Sam K shooting just wide of an open goal. Saltford kicked to Tom, who went on a run but
fell before getting to shoot. Dan then
went on a great attack but shot just wide.
Jack passed to Tom but three players ganged up to tackle him. Sam K then had a shot, but unfortunately it
was straight to the ‘keeper.
Early in the second half and Tom went down
injured. The ref’ was very slow to blow
his whistle (Nick!) whilst everyone else was shouting at him about it! A drop ball was played, Sam B won it and ran
to goal but stumbled at the last. Max
had a strong shot, it hit the ‘keeper lost its momentum and the ‘keeper was
able to dive after it and stop it on the line.
Then Sam B shot wide. Tom then
threw to Max but he also shot wide. Max
then had another attack but shot wide. Tom went on a run and this time the
shot went in 1-0.

Game 2 - The line up was:
Joby
Callum James
Ethan Josh
Jim
Oscar
Rolling Subs: Joe, Mark & Sam P
Ethan passed to Jim but he
was tackled by the entire Saltford team!
Josh & Jim were then both by the goal but couldn’t score. Jim then passed to Oscar but he could not
score. Saltford did attack but Josh was
there with some great defending. Josh
then passed to Jim, but he shot wide.
Ethan then had a shot which the ‘keeper got his feet to. It came loose but no players were following
up. Then came the moment that we had all
been waiting for. A great pass by Jim
went to Oscar and he scored our, and
more importantly his, 1st goal 1-0. Ethan went on a run up the wing but he ran
out of pitch. The ball soon returned to
us and this time Josh shot and we
doubled our lead 2-0. Joe passed to Spike who knocked it on to Ethan.
His shot hit the post, so he shot again and made no mistake 3-0.
Josh then passed to Spike and again on to Ethan but this time it was cut
out
We pretty much carried on the
second half as we had the first. Ethan
got the ball to Joe and from him on to Josh, whose run down the wing was
stopped by a great tackle. We weren’t to
be denied for long though as Sam passed to Joe
for him to get on the score sheet 4-0. Ethan then passed to Callum but his shot came
back off of the post. Soon after, Jim made it five goals from five
players 5-0. Saltford then attacked and almost scored, but
Oscar cleared off of the goal line. They
shot again and this time Joby saved.
Having gotten Oscar his goal, the general concensus was to try to get
James his goal. He was pushed up front and
almost immediately had a chance but just missed the ball as it came across
him.
Saltford were still trying
however and Joby had to be alert to make a great save. Mark then passed to Joe to set up another
attack, but his through ball was cut out.
Saltford attacked again and Joby held on to the shot well. His kick came to Joe who played a lovely ball
through to Jim to give Saltford six
of the best 6-0. At this point Callum decided that he was
going to try to get on the score sheet but was chased by three players and was
tackled. Back at our end and it was Mark
and Callum defending, clearing the ball to Ethan, but his cross was cut
out. Near the end, James was through on
the ‘keeper but his shot was saved. At
the very end Joe saw the last shot of the game hit the post and out.
